I teach FI 413 and FI 513, Financial Modeling, at the Eller
College of Management at the University of Arizona. The course
primarily focuses on corporate valuation using Excel and also blends in
financial accounting, option valuation and VBA/Javascript programming.
The valuation of start-up firms and technology firms is a key component.
Additionally, students write a customized Monte Carlo simulator in VBA
to round out the semester. I designed the course in 2012 based off
my own work experience as a C++ programmer at an engineering firm,
accountant/auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers, and financial
consultant.
Students are typically heavily recruited by valuation firms, consulting
firms and investment banks. Employers interested in recruiting or
students interested in the course may contact me via the information on
my CV. |
